Swansea City Striker Ross Stewart Out with Quad Injury

Swansea City’s wait to properly unleash Ross Stewart will go on, with the Scotland striker set to miss the club’s next four matches because of a quad injury.

The 30-year-old, signed last month on a three-year deal and viewed as a key piece of Swansea’s attacking rebuild, has managed just one brief outing so far – a substitute appearance in the goalless draw with Sheffield United 11 days ago.

Since then, he has been sidelined for back-to-back Championship wins, absent from Saturday’s victory at Derby County and again from Tuesday night’s success over Watford.

Now comes the bigger blow. Stewart is expected to sit out Saturday’s home game against Wrexham, next Tuesday’s trip to Southampton – the club where he previously played – and further fixtures against Burnley and Lincoln City before the international break at the end of the month.

“Ross had a soft tissue injury, not massive, but probably he can return in the international break,” head coach Vitor Matos said, offering a cautious but optimistic timeline.

For Swansea, it means navigating a demanding run without the forward they had planned to build around. For Stewart, it means more frustration, more waiting, and the prospect of his real Swansea career not starting in earnest until after the break.
