Arsenal's Injury Woes Deepen as Kai Havertz Faces Hamstring Concern on Germany Duty

Arsenal forward Kai Havertz will undergo a medical scan following a suspected hamstring injury sustained during Germany’s 1-1 draw with the Netherlands. The match marked Jurgen Klopp's first game as Germany manager but was overshadowed by injuries to key players.

Klopp’s Debut Marred by Injury Setbacks and Late Equaliser

Klopp appeared on track for a winning start in the UEFA Nations League after Felix Nmecha scored in the first half. Yet a stoppage-time goal from Cody Gakpo denied Germany victory, ending the match in a draw. More troubling was the injury to Havertz, who left the field in the 32nd minute after a heavy challenge from Quinten Timber. His exit has sparked concern at Arsenal ahead of important fixtures.

Two Major Injuries Hit Germany’s Attack

The injury blow wasn’t limited to Havertz. Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala pulled out before kickoff with a thigh problem discovered during warm-up. Havertz received on-field treatment before being replaced by Younes Eboutalib. Both players are now awaiting MRI results.

"Both are currently undergoing an MRI. I hope we get the diagnosis this evening," Klopp said. "Of course, this isn't great. I hope it’s nothing serious. They’re probably out for us but hopefully back quickly."

Arteta Faces Growing Injury Concerns at Arsenal

For Mikel Arteta, this injury list is becoming more worrying. Besides Havertz’s status, Arsenal have also lost Declan Rice and Marli Salmon to England squad withdrawals. Additionally, Jurrien Timber was left out of the Netherlands squad due to fitness caution. Havertz’s injury adds to these challenges as Arsenal await more information.

What Lies Ahead for Havertz and Germany?

Klopp’s remarks suggest Havertz and Musiala might miss Germany’s next three games, including two matches against Greece and one against Serbia. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s immediate concern is whether Havertz will recover in time for their Premier League match versus Leeds United on October 10. The club awaits the scan results with fingers crossed that the injury is not severe.
