St Patrick's Athletic Stuns Shamrock Rovers in FAI Cup Upset

Sam Rooney, 17, struck an extra-time winner as St Patrick's Athletic roared back from 2-0 down to dump Club Orange FAI Cup holders Shamrock Rovers out in a breathless third-round tie at Richmond Park.

Rovers looked to have the afternoon under control by the break. Jonathan Afolabi and Michael Noonan both found the net, punishing a Saints side that had carved out the bulk of the chances but failed to make them count.
