Schalke Boosted by Gosens and Karaman's Return to Training

The new Bundesliga season is drawing closer, and Schalke finally have some good news from the treatment room.

Summer signing Robin Gosens is back in the thick of it. The left-sided defender took part in large parts of team training on Wednesday, 12 August, a key step in his recovery after a frustrating start to life at the club. He had picked up a thigh injury in the test match against Hessen Kassel at the beginning of the month, an early setback that briefly stalled the excitement around his arrival.

The mood at the training ground lifted again with another familiar face rejoining the group. Captain Kenan Karaman has also returned to training after suffering a pelvic contusion in the friendly against Atalanta on 8 August. His presence alone changes the tone of a session; Schalke will want their leader fully sharp when the league campaign kicks off.

Not everyone is back yet. Junior Dina Ebimbe continues to work away from the main group, still training individually as he builds up towards a full return. He will need a little more time before he can be reintegrated into full squad work.

With the season fast approaching, Schalke’s bench is slowly filling up again. The question now is how quickly these returning players can turn recovery into rhythm.
