Real Madrid Training Update Ahead of La Liga Clash with Malaga

Real Madrid’s preparations for Sunday’s La Liga clash with Malaga were marked by a conspicuous gap in numbers on the training pitch.

Several key names were missing from the main session at Valdebebas as Carlo Ancelotti’s squad tuned up for the third round of the league season at the Santiago Bernabeu. Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy, Raul Asencio, Aurelien Tchouameni, Thiago Pitarch, Rodrygo and Endrick all sat out the group work.

The list is long. The club insists the work is ongoing.

All seven continued with their respective recovery programmes, each on a tailored plan. Militao and Endrick stepped up their efforts on an adjacent pitch, first going through a series of physical drills before moving into ball work, a clear sign both are edging closer to a return.

Tchouameni’s situation drew particular attention. Spanish radio journalist Arancha Rodriguez, speaking on Cope, underlined the internal stance on the French midfielder’s management: “Mourinho explained it well a few days ago. Tchouameni wants to play now, but the technical staff prefer his full recovery. I would also like to remind that he renewed his contract at the beginning of the summer.”

The message is firm: no risks, not now, not with the season just beginning.

Current Form

On the pitch, Real Madrid arrive in strong domestic form. Two games, two wins, and momentum already building. They opened with a 2-1 victory over Espanyol, then followed it up with a convincing 4-1 win against Real Sociedad.

Malaga now walk into the Bernabeu cauldron on Sunday, facing a Madrid side that is winning, rotating, and still waiting to unleash several of its recovering stars.
