Manchester United Target Carlos Baleba for £60m Transfer

Manchester United are closing in on their third midfield recruit of the summer, with a £60m move for Brighton’s Carlos Baleba edging towards completion. United have tracked the Cameroon international for over a year, first identifying him as a target last summer, and are prepared to push the offer up by another £5m to get it over the line.

Twelve months ago, Brighton were quoting figures north of £100m for the 22-year-old. A difficult season has changed the landscape. United now sense value where there was once only resistance and believe they have finally landed on a fee that suits all parties as Baleba prepares for life at Old Trafford.

Liverpool open door to Curtis Jones exit

Up the M62, Liverpool are in talks with Inter Milan over the sale of Curtis Jones, with the Italian champions back at the table for a player they have admired for some time. No agreement is in place yet, but discussions are active and progressing.

Liverpool are thought to be willing to cash in for around €35m (£30m), a figure that would send Jones to San Siro and hand the club extra room to reshape their midfield. While those negotiations play out, the Reds remain keen on Bradley Barcola after stepping away from a move for his PSG team‑mate Ibrahim Mbaye.

Arsenal move for Konsa after Saliba blow

Arsenal, stung by the serious injury to William Saliba, have responded decisively. The club have agreed a deal worth around £51m to sign Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa, with Mikel Arteta determined not to let defensive frailty undermine their Premier League title defence.

Arteta had earmarked a right-sided defender as a priority, even with Jurrien Timber back to full fitness. Konsa, 28, will be asked to compete with Cristhian Mosquera as the primary deputy for Saliba alongside Gabriel Magalhaes. His first assignment could be a sharp one: a debut against his former club Aston Villa as early as next week.

Spurs eye double swoop as De Zerbi rebuilds

In north London, Tottenham are weighing up a bold attacking shake-up. The club retain strong interest in Savinho, a long-term target they considered bidding £50m for last summer, and are also looking closely at Omar Marmoush as they explore the possibility of landing both.

Roberto De Zerbi wants more firepower and variety in his forward line after a season in which his side only just escaped relegation. Spurs’ pursuit of Savinho and Marmoush fits into that wider, expensive overhaul. The question now is how far they are willing to go to arm De Zerbi with the tools to drag this squad away from the brink and back towards the top end of the table.
