Luis Enrique Concerned About Achraf Hakimi’s Injury After PSG Win
Luis Enrique sounded a note of concern over Achraf Hakimi’s fitness after Paris Saint-Germain’s win away to Brest on Sunday, as the club suffered its first major injury scare of the season.
The Morocco right-back pulled up a few minutes before half-time in the Ligue 1 clash, immediately reaching for his right adductor. He slowed to a halt near the touchline, tested the muscle himself, then quickly signalled to the bench that he could not continue.
Hakimi limped off, his discomfort obvious, turning what had been a routine evening into a nervous one for PSG with the international break fast approaching. Any setback now could rule him out for both club and country in a crucial stretch of the calendar.
Luis Enrique kept his cards close to his chest after the match. Speaking to Foot Mercato, the PSG coach said: “Hakimi? I hope the injury is not serious, it is difficult to determine that. He will undergo a medical examination tomorrow.”
For now, that is all PSG have to cling to: hope and a pending scan. Only the results of those tests will reveal the extent of the damage and how long one of their key outlets on the flank might be missing.
