Juventus Anxious Over Locatelli's Knee Injury

Juventus face an anxious wait over the fitness of captain Manuel Locatelli after the midfielder reported a knee problem following Sunday night’s 1-1 draw with Milan in Serie A.

Locatelli felt discomfort in his knee towards the end of the match at the Allianz Stadium, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio and others. He stayed on the pitch and completed the full 90 minutes, but the issue was serious enough for him to flag it to the medical staff after the final whistle.

The 26-year-old is now set to report to JMedical, where he will undergo tests in the coming hours to determine the extent of the problem.

For Juventus, the timing could hardly be worse. Their midfield is already stretched: Khephren Thuram has recently undergone knee surgery and is not expected back until early 2027, removing a regular starter from the heart of the team for the long term.

Losing Locatelli for any significant spell would rip out another key pillar of the side and force a reshuffle in the middle of the park. It would leave Luciano Spalletti leaning heavily on Weston McKennie, Douglas Luiz, Teun Koopmeiners and summer arrival Pape Matar Sarr to carry the load in central midfield.

The scans at JMedical will now dictate how much Juventus and their captain have to fear from a knock that, on Sunday night, he tried to play through.
