Hakimi Injury Update: PSG Relieved Ahead of Ligue 1 Clasico

Paris Saint-Germain walked out of Brest with three points and a scare. They now know it could have been much worse.

Achraf Hakimi, who limped off during Sunday’s tight Ligue 1 win over Stade Brest, has only suffered a minor injury to his right thigh, the club confirmed on Monday.

The full-back pulled up during the game clutching his leg, immediately raising fears of a hamstring problem. Luis Enrique admitted afterwards he had no clear idea how serious it was, and the uncertainty briefly overshadowed a hard-fought away victory settled by a single goal.

PSG have now drawn a line under the panic.

“After sustaining a minor injury to his right thigh during last night's match against Brest, Achraf Hakimi will undergo medical treatment for two days,” the club announced on their official channels.

An “additional medical examination will be carried out at the end of this period,” they added.

The timetable matters. It keeps Hakimi on course to feature in next Sunday’s Ligue 1 Clasico against Olympique Marseille, one of the defining fixtures of PSG’s domestic season.

They leave Brest with a win, their right flank bruised but not broken, and one of their key weapons still expected to be ready when Marseille come to town.
