France forward fit for Liverpool's Anfield clash
Liverpool’s France forward has been passed fit to start the Premier League clash at Anfield, shaking off the cramp that forced him off in the second half of Wednesday’s win over Atletico Madrid.
Any fears of a lingering issue have been parked. He leads the line again on home turf, a major boost for a side looking to turn European momentum into domestic points.
There are changes around him.
- Ryan Gravenberch
- Kostas Tsimikas
- Victor Munoz
are all drafted into the starting XI, with Milos Kerkez, Alexis Mac Allister and Rio Ngumoha making way. Fresh legs, fresh angles, and a slightly different balance as Liverpool adjust from a European night to the intensity of a Premier League fixture.
On the bench, there is another important name back in the frame. Cody Gakpo returns to the matchday squad after a fitness issue and is named among the substitutes, ready if needed to tilt the game from the sidelines.
Liverpool line-up:
Alisson; Van Dijk, Jacquet, Wirtz; Szoboszlai, Isak, Tsimikas, Munoz, Barcola, Araujo, Gravenberch.
With their main French attacker fit and Gakpo waiting in reserve, Liverpool arrive at Anfield with options everywhere. Now it’s about what they do with them.
