The Chelsea forward has been recalled by Carlo Ancelotti for the upcoming FIFA Super Date, a three-game swing that sends the Seleção twice against Australia before a meeting with India. For Estevao, it is more than a tour. It is a restart.

His last Brazil appearance came before a brutal right hamstring tear for Chelsea in April 2026, an injury that ripped up his season and his World Cup dream in a single moment. “My family was fundamental to me during this injury period, which isn't very easy for an athlete,” Estevao said. “We missed a very special moment, but they were always by my side. I also used a lot of the word resilience, facing each day, forgetting what happened and focusing on the future.”

That word – resilience – has carried him from the treatment room back into a Brazil squad that had already started to move on without him.

Before the hamstring went, Estevao had exploded onto the international scene under Ancelotti. He scored against Chile. Then South Korea. Then Senegal. Then Tunisia. “I don’t think it’s anxiety, I think it’s a privilege,” he explained. “Every player who is chosen here is privileged. Being chosen by Ancelotti is a privilege for me. I see this as motivation to give my best every day in training and in games.”
