Rangers now know the road that will define their season. Five games, three away trips, two showdowns at Ibrox, and an Old Firm finale at Parkhead that could shape the narrative of the entire campaign.
Danny Röhl’s side open their post-split schedule at home to Motherwell on Sunday, April 26, with a 3pm kick-off that should set the tone for what follows. It is the kind of fixture Rangers simply have to control: familiar surroundings, a demanding crowd, and no margin for early stumbles.
Then comes a shift in atmosphere and intensity. On Monday, May 4, Rangers travel to Tynecastle to face Hearts, a 5:30pm start under the television glare of Sky Sports. Tynecastle rarely offers anyone an easy evening. Tight pitch, hostile stands, and a home side that relish unsettling visiting heavyweights. If Rangers want to look like a side ready for the biggest stage, this is the sort of away day they must impose themselves on.
And then, the fixture that always looms largest.
On Sunday, May 10, Rangers head across the city for the final Old Firm of the campaign, a 12 noon kick-off at Celtic Park, live on Sky Sports. Whatever the table looks like by then, that date will be circled in red by players and supporters alike. The last Old Firm of a season always carries a weight of its own: bragging rights, momentum, and often a hint of what’s to come in the next campaign. Parkhead will be hostile, the stakes unforgiving. This is the one that can turn a good run-in into a defining one.
Rangers then return to Ibrox for their penultimate outing, welcoming Hibernian on Wednesday, May 13, under the lights with an 8pm kick-off. Midweek at Ibrox has its own energy. The crowd arrives expecting a performance, not just a result, especially if the table is tight and every point carries the tension of a cup tie.
The curtain comes down on Saturday, May 16, away to Falkirk, with a 12:30pm start. Final days often throw up nerves, drama, and unexpected storylines. Whether this proves a celebration, a grind, or a test of nerve will depend on how Rangers handle the four fixtures before it.
