Dario Osorio: Rising Chilean Star Attracts Major European Interest

Dario Osorio has gone from promising prospect to one of the most closely watched young forwards in Europe this summer – and the queue for his signature is growing by the day.

The 22-year-old Chilean, a left-footed right winger with a taste for direct running and sharp finishes, has drawn concrete enquiries as the transfer window heads into its final stretch. Liverpool are tracking him. So are Everton and Leeds United. AC Milan remain in the conversation, with interest in both Denmark and Italy pointing firmly in their direction. Arsenal, too, have not disappeared from the scene after first registering admiration for him last summer.

At FC Midtjylland, nobody is pretending this is a quiet situation.

A rising Chilean star in Denmark

Osorio arrived in the Danish Superliga from Universidad de Chile in 2023 and has climbed quickly. Across 117 games he has produced 23 goals and 18 assists, numbers that have gone hand in hand with his rise to regular international duty. Chile have already capped him 25 times.

His game is built on pace and aggression with the ball, the kind of winger who attacks full-backs rather than circling them. He can operate off either flank, a versatility that has drawn inevitable comparisons with Alexis Sanchez and convinced Midtjylland that they are sitting on a serious asset.

They have put a clear price on him. The Danish club value Osorio at around €20m (£17.1m / $23.4m) and are ready to listen if that figure is met. Lower bids have already been turned away. Inside the club, there is a growing expectation that both Osorio and another key forward will leave before the deadline, with senior coaching and boardroom voices describing a sale as “almost inevitable”.

The pressure finally told in the market as more clubs stepped forward. While no formal bid has yet been accepted, the volume of calls and enquiries suggests that a move is edging closer.

Premier League or Serie A?

That is the key question now. Whether Osorio’s next step comes in the Premier League or Serie A is still open, but there is a broad consensus among scouts and decision-makers that he is ready for a higher level.

Liverpool’s need for wide reinforcements is no secret. They have been working on deals for wingers such as Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye and are open to bringing in potentially two new options out wide. Osorio fits the profile: young, aggressive, with resale value and room to grow.

Across Stanley Park, Everton are also in the market for another wide player before the window closes. Jack Grealish remains on their radar, Como’s Assane Diao is on a shortlist, and Osorio has been discussed as part of the same recruitment drive. Leeds United, pushing to strengthen their attacking options, are monitoring the situation as well.

And then there is Milan, watching from Italy as English clubs circle. Midtjylland are hopeful that this blend of Premier League and Serie A interest will push the fee beyond their initial valuation, especially with time running out and several sides wary of missing out on a relatively affordable attacking talent.

What is clear is that Osorio is no longer a quiet secret in Denmark. With Midtjylland open to a deal at the right price and the window ticking down, the battle for one of South America’s most intriguing young exports is about to hit full speed.
