Zulay Pogba Shares Her Journey from Christianity to Islam After Marrying Paul Pogba
Zulay Pogba, wife of French football star Paul Pogba, recently spoke about her spiritual journey and why she left Christianity following their marriage. The Bolivian-born interior designer and mother of three revealed that she embraced Islam seven years ago, having previously identified as Christian.
A Personal Transformation
Zulay’s story is closely linked with her relationship with Paul, who practices Islam. She explained that after they got married, she began to study the religion more deeply. During an Instagram Q&A on February 9, Zulay, 32, shared, "I converted to Islam 7 years ago, I was a Christian before. After Paul and I got married, I started reading and learning about the religion. I decided to convert after my first son was born."
This change reflects how family ties can influence personal beliefs. Raised in a Christian home in Bolivia, Zulay described her decision as thoughtful and well-researched. Conversions like hers often happen in interfaith marriages when couples look for spiritual harmony to build unity.

Paul Pogba has openly discussed his Islamic faith, crediting it with helping him navigate the pressures of professional football. He has mentioned performing Umrah pilgrimages and observing Ramadan regularly.
