Evans returned to Old Trafford on a free transfer after his Leicester contract expired and retired from playing last summer. Now, from the training pitches rather than the penalty area, he has helped shape a signing that United hope will anchor their midfield for years.
A move Villa didn’t want – but Tielemans did

"And I feel like the club is ambitious in that as well. They want to win and be really good on the pitch. That's why I chose to come here."
United want control, craft, and leadership in midfield. Tielemans offers all three. At Leicester, he not only scored the iconic FA Cup goal but also took the armband in his final season. For Belgium, he captained his country at the World Cup, starting every game and scoring twice before a knock in the warm-up forced him out of their quarter-final against Spain.

Old Trafford, from enemy ground to home
Tielemans knows Old Trafford well. Just not like this.
"I'm yet to experience it as a home player, but as an away player, it's a tough ground to come to," he admitted. "You can feel the atmosphere straight away once you come into the stadium; the history is there. To play for the home team is going to be nice."
For years, he has been the visitor trying to quieten the Stretford End. Soon, he will be the one feeding attacks towards it, dictating tempo under the glare of a crowd that demands both style and steel.
