Wycombe Wanderers Sign Cauley Woodrow Permanently
Wycombe Wanderers have turned last season’s loan success into a permanent deal, completing the signing of forward Cauley Woodrow from League One rivals Luton Town for an undisclosed fee.
The move ends a stop-start spell at Kenilworth Road for the 31-year-old, who managed six goals in 79 appearances for the Hatters, most of them coming from the bench as he fought for minutes in a side climbing the divisions.
Adams Park told a very different story.
Given a central role during his season-long loan, Woodrow became Wycombe’s main attacking reference point and finished the campaign as the club’s top scorer, hitting 12 goals in 40 games. His contribution went beyond the numbers: he knitted attacks together, dropped into pockets, and gave Wycombe a focal point they had been missing.
That blend of craft and consistency convinced the club to move decisively this summer.
“He (Cauley) brings the technical quality to link the back to the front for us,” said Tom Stockwell, Wycombe’s director of football strategy and data intelligence, speaking to the club’s website. “He’s also a top professional and character in the dressing room which is important for us to keep pushing forwards.”
It is a signing that underlines Wycombe’s intent. Rather than starting again in attack, they have locked in the forward who already knows the system, the squad, and the demands of the league.
The length of Woodrow’s contract remains undisclosed, but the message is clear enough: Wycombe are building around a player who has already proved he can carry their goal threat.
