Because Chelsea failed to qualify for European competition last season, they enter the Carabao Cup in the second round, a rare occurrence only happening twice this century. Luton Town, who played in the Premier League as recently as the 2023/24 season, have started their League One campaign with four points from two games. Their manager is former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.
