Nottingham Forest Sign £34.3m Diomande as Glasner Era Begins
Nottingham Forest have made a major statement in the market, sealing the signing of Ivory Coast defender Ousmane Diomande from Sporting on a four-year deal worth around £34.3m (€40m).
This is not a committee signing. It has Oliver Glasner’s fingerprints all over it.
The Forest head coach pushed hard for Diomande after trying to lure him to Crystal Palace during his previous job. Weeks of negotiations have finally delivered the 22-year-old centre-back, and with him, a clear indication of how Forest intend to defend – and compete – this season.

Diomande’s arrival headlines a busy window at the City Ground and comes in the same summer Forest sanctioned one of the most eye-catching sales in the league.
Elliot Anderson has joined Manchester City for £116m, a departure that both funds and frames this rebuild. Around that blockbuster move, Forest have quietly overhauled key areas of the squad.
