Noni Madueke's Intense Pre-Season Training in Dubai

Noni Madueke is refusing to waste a single day of his first full pre-season as an Arsenal player.

Barely weeks after helping England to a third-place finish at the 2026 World Cup, the 23-year-old winger is trading celebration for sweat, swapping the spotlight of a global tournament for the furnace of Dubai.

According to reporter Simon Collings, Madueke has headed to the Middle East for the second phase of his summer break. It is a “break” in name only. The plan is simple: a touch of warm-weather downtime wrapped around an intensive, tailor-made conditioning programme before he reports back to London Colney.

This is not the soft landing many players choose after a long season and a World Cup. Madueke has already enjoyed an extended rest, granted by Arsenal after his efforts with England. Now, rather than easing himself gently into pre-season, he is pushing the accelerator down.

Dubai has become the unofficial off-season training camp for Premier League footballers, a place where luxury hotels sit alongside high-performance gyms and specialist coaches. Madueke will tap into that network, working with performance experts on drills built around sharpness, explosive acceleration and serious cardiovascular work.

Short sprints in desert heat. Repeated changes of direction. Sessions that bite at the lungs and legs. If Arsenal’s staff wanted a sign of how seriously he is taking this campaign, this is it.

The former PSV Eindhoven winger arrived at Arsenal last summer for an initial £48.5m fee, a move that carried expectation as well as opportunity. This season, he knows the margin for error shrinks. The battle for wide positions at the club is unforgiving.

Bukayo Saka, managed carefully through large stretches of last season, is targeting a far more productive 2026/27. Others in Mikel Arteta’s attacking stable will not step aside quietly. Madueke has to fight for every minute.

That is why these days in Dubai matter. By driving himself through a personal mini pre-season under punishing conditions, he is aiming to report back not just fit, but primed — ready to hit the ground running while others are still playing their way into rhythm.

Arsenal will gather soon enough, their squad filtering back from holidays and international duty. When Madueke walks through the doors at the training ground, he intends to arrive not as a peripheral figure, but as a winger ready to force his way into the heart of Arteta’s plans.
