Team Updates
The Netherlands face some injury setbacks, with Donyell Malen and Justin Kluivert withdrawing. Key players like Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt remain absent. Surprisingly, Memphis Depay, the top scorer for the Dutch, was left out of Xavi's initial squad. Captain Virgil van Dijk returns after discussions with the new coach about his role moving forward.
Jurgen Klopp has taken an unusual route by starting his tenure with a large 44-player squad before trimming it down to 24 for this match. Notably, Florian Wirtz and Nick Woltemade are not included, while Philipp Treu might make his debut following impressive performances as right-back for Freiburg.
