Liverpool Sign Spanish Midfielder Natalia Ramos for Summer Rebuild
Liverpool have moved again in the transfer market, landing Spanish midfielder Natalia Ramos from CD Tenerife Femenino, subject to visa approval and international clearance.
At 27, Ramos arrives as the Reds’ sixth signing of a busy summer, a clear signal that Liverpool are reshaping the spine of their women’s side with experience as well as promise. This is no speculative punt. She comes off the back of a standout campaign in Spain’s top flight with Tenerife, where she made 30 league appearances last season, scored 10 goals and supplied five assists.
Those numbers tell part of the story. The other part lies in her durability and stature at her former club. Ramos passed the 200-appearance mark for Tenerife, growing from academy prospect into one of the pillars of the Liga F outfit. Week after week, she carried responsibility in a league that has hardened some of Europe’s best midfielders.
The move to Merseyside, she insists, felt natural.
"I'm really, really happy," Ramos said. "I'm very excited to achieve this new step in my life and I'm very grateful for this new opportunity.
"For me it was a very easy decision and I'm very, very happy, with a lot of feelings and emotions because I know who the club is, the respect [it has].
"I feel very happy and privileged to take this shirt and sign at the club."
Liverpool are not just signing club experience; they are adding a player shaped by Spain’s youth system. Ramos has represented her country at Under-17 and Under-19 level and was part of the Spain squad that lifted the 2017 Women's European Under-19 Championship in Northern Ireland, a tournament that has produced a steady stream of senior internationals.
Her arrival extends a deliberate pattern. Ramos follows Mao Itamura, Vivien Endemann, Sara Agrez, Mari Ward and Khiara Keating through the door this summer, each piece nudging Liverpool towards a deeper, more competitive squad.
The paperwork still needs to clear. Once it does, a midfielder forged in Liga F will walk into a new dressing room on Merseyside, pull on a red shirt and be asked a simple question: can she turn all that experience into the next step of Liverpool’s climb?
