If Rayan and Barcola both prove unattainable, the calibre of alternative options drops quickly. One big winger, not two

Within that context, Barcola appears to be the primary wide target, the one Liverpool have positioned themselves for if talks with PSG reach a breakthrough. Rayan, with personal terms already broadly agreed in principle, looks like the parallel track – a deal Liverpool can accelerate if Bournemouth open the door and the numbers stay within reach.
The strategy is clear enough: stay close to both situations, move decisively when one becomes viable, and avoid being dragged into an arms race they cannot – and will not – try to win.
