Liverpool Close to Securing PSG Winger Ibrahim Mbaye While Pursuing Bradley Barcola

Liverpool have reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye, marking a key step in their summer transfer plans. The Reds are also pushing forward to sign another PSG star, Bradley Barcola, aiming for a major double signing from the European champions.

Mbaye Set for Five-Year Contract at Anfield

According to Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport, the 18-year-old Senegalese international has agreed on financial terms for a five-year deal with Liverpool. Head coach Andoni Iraola sees Mbaye as a prime target to add speed and youth to Liverpool’s attacking options, following the recent signing of Victor Munoz from Osasuna.

Mbaye attracted interest from Bayer Leverkusen but appears determined to join the Premier League. Last season, he made 29 appearances for PSG under Luis Enrique, scoring three goals, although he struggled for consistent game time behind Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Liverpool Increase Offer for Barcola to €135 Million

The pursuit of Barcola continues with Liverpool raising their bid to €135 million. The 23-year-old French forward has been a long-term target, and this improved offer reflects the club’s determination to meet PSG’s valuation.

While cautious about overspending—especially after paying a club-record £125 million for Alexander Isak last summer—the entry of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos into Liverpool's ownership structure has changed the club's financial approach. Liverpool now feel more confident making aggressive moves in the transfer market and await PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi's response.

PSG Manager Luis Enrique Keeps Transfer Plans Private

PSG boss Luis Enrique has remained tight-lipped amid speculation over Mbaye and Barcola’s futures. Both players were omitted from the squad that lost to Lens in the Trophees des Champions, despite being unused substitutes days earlier against Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup.

"I will talk about the transfer window when it is finished," Enrique told reporters before leaving the room.

PSG Squad Reshuffle Underway

The possible exits of Mbaye and Barcola come during a wider squad overhaul at PSG. The club has already signed promising talents like Ferran Torres from Barcelona and Mika Godts from Ajax.

Liverpool see this transition as an opportunity to strengthen their squad following Mohamed Salah’s departure, hoping to finalize reinforcements ahead of the transfer deadline.
