Harry Kane to Receive Second European Golden Shoe After Record Bundesliga Season

Harry Kane, the Bayern Munich striker, will be honored with his second European Golden Shoe on August 19 after an exceptional 2025-26 Bundesliga season where he scored 36 goals.

Kane Outshines Haaland and Mbappe

Kane has confirmed his place among Europe's elite goal scorers by leading the continent's major leagues in goals again. The award ceremony celebrates the top league scorer across Europe, recognizing Kane’s relentless scoring during the past season.

His 36 Bundesliga goals earned him 72 points in the Golden Shoe standings, comfortably surpassing competitors like Manchester City's Erling Haaland and Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe, the latter being last season's winner. This is Kane’s second time winning the award, having first claimed it in 2023-24. Over all competitions in 2025-26, Kane set a new record by netting 61 goals for Bayern.

Bundesliga Praises Kane's Consistency

Since joining Bayern, Kane’s influence on German football has been remarkable. Marc Lenz, Bundesliga’s managing director, praised Kane’s high-level performances and consistent goal scoring.

"Harry Kane has been shaping the Bundesliga and international football for years with performances at an outstanding level. With 36 goals in the Bundesliga last season, he once again demonstrated his exceptional quality and goalscoring instinct. Winning the Golden Shoe for a second time is an extraordinary achievement and underlines his consistency at world-class level," said Lenz.

Germany Remains Home to Europe's Top Scorers

The Bundesliga continues to be a hub for prolific strikers. Alongside Kane, two other Bundesliga players ranked highly in Europe’s scoring charts: Deniz Undav from VfB Stuttgart finished ninth, while Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy took 13th place.

Kane’s success highlights Germany’s history of producing top scorers, following legends like Gerd Muller and Robert Lewandowski who also won the Golden Shoe while playing in the Bundesliga.

Looking Ahead: Kane's Future at Bayern

As Kane prepares to receive his second Golden Shoe, attention turns to his future with Bayern Munich. Reports indicate that both Kane and Bayern are keen to extend their partnership, with a new three-year contract offer expected. This deal would keep Kane at the club until shortly before his 36th birthday.
