Harry Kane did not just reach 100 Bundesliga goals. He tore up a record that had stood for nearly half a century.
The England captain hit the landmark in Bayern Munich’s ruthless 7-0 demolition of Union Berlin, reaching three figures in only his 98th league appearance for the club. Cologne legend Dieter Müller had held the record since 1977, needing 129 matches to get there. Kane has sliced 31 games off that mark.

He was not finished. Early in the second half, Kane drifted into the box, read the flight of a Michael Olise cross and guided a firm header home. Goal 101. Bayern cruising. Top of the table before the rest of the weekend had even begun.
The numbers and the record naturally dragged the spotlight towards Kane, but this was a night rich in attacking excess. Olise produced his first Bayern hat-trick, a statement performance from a player already tipped to become a central figure in Munich. Jamal Musiala added a goal of his own – the kind that usually decides tight games, only here it was just another flourish in a rout.
Kane, though, understood the scale of what he had just done.
“I’m very proud to have now scored 100 and 101 Bundesliga goals. I haven’t been around that long. I’ve loved every second of it,” he told Sky Germany, before quickly pointing to the talent around him. “With Michael, Lucho [Luis Díaz] and Jamal I naturally get chances and today was no exception.
“So I just want to thank the team, the club, the coach, and the staff – everyone who has helped me achieve this. Let’s keep going like this. Scoring more goals in games is obviously a big step. Of course, there have been many important goals among them. I can only say that I’m enjoying every minute of it. Just like today.”
That enjoyment now comes with a question for the rest of Germany: if this is how fast Kane reaches 100, where does the total stop?
