Hansi Flick Leads Barcelona to Record Seven Straight Wins with Dominant Victory Over Racing Santander
Hansi Flick Guides Barcelona to Unprecedented Seven-Game Winning Streak
Barcelona has embarked on an extraordinary run under Hansi Flick, securing seven straight victories across all competitions. Their latest triumph, a commanding 7-2 win against Racing Santander, set a new club record for the best start to a season.
A New Club Milestone
The Catalan side shattered their previous best, which was six consecutive wins at the beginning of a campaign—an achievement last seen in the 1929/30, 1960/61, and 2018/19 seasons. None of those teams managed to reach seven in a row until now.
"I liked the way we played and the three points. I’m happy, we’re happy. It’s not easy to play against Racing," Flick told reporters after the match.
Strong Offense Paired with Staunch Defense
This streak is marked by a blend of prolific scoring and solid defensive work. Barcelona netted 33 goals while conceding just seven during these first seven games. Their victories include matches against Elche, Athletic Club, Rayo Vallecano, Valencia, Feyenoord, Levante, and now Racing Santander.
"It’s always good to start well, but what matters is how you finish. It gives us confidence, and I like the momentum and the intensity. Everyone presses, everyone is involved. How we work as a team is crucial," Flick said.
Karim Adeyemi Making His Mark
New signing Karim Adeyemi is gradually settling into the squad. Flick highlighted his speed and growing adaptation to the team's tactics, praising the forward’s commitment and impact.
"He can improve and still needs to fully adapt to our way of playing, but he gives us a lot, as we saw today. I’m happy for him and I like what I see. He’s a fun player and a good guy who gives everything on the pitch. His pace is incredible," Flick remarked.
Focus Shifts to Upcoming Challenge
Despite the celebrations, Flick is already preparing for the next challenge. Barcelona will look to continue their winning streak when they face Sevilla away at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium this Saturday.
