The move has not come out of nowhere. Earlier this week, Ferran publicly opened the door to an exit, his comments about his Barcelona future quickly making headlines and alerting suitors. PSG did not hesitate. As soon as they received confirmation of his openness to a move, they moved with intent.
The need in Paris is clear. PSG have sold Gonçalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani this summer, leaving a gap behind their first-choice striker.
