Djed Spence Set for Inter Debut After International Break

Djed Spence has yet to kick a competitive ball for Inter, but the wait is almost over. The English full-back is expected to be available when Serie A returns in October, with his debut pencilled in for Inter’s first game back after the international break.

The 26-year-old arrived from Tottenham in the summer on a permanent €35m deal, a clear statement from the Nerazzurri. Big fee, big expectations. So far, though, fans have only seen him in the warm-up gear, not in full flight down the flank.

Spence’s delayed start has nothing to do with tactics or trust. It’s about his legs. After a demanding World Cup campaign with England, the defender reported to Milan short on match fitness. Cristian Chivu has handed his players a full week off during the break, with those not on international duty due back at Appiano Gentile next Monday. That’s when the real countdown begins. Spence is expected to rejoin full group training at that point, stepping into the rhythm of a side with serious ambitions on all fronts.

The target is clear: October 10 at San Siro, when Inter host Parma. That is the date ringed on the calendar for Spence’s first official appearance in an Inter shirt.
