Court McGee Shares Why UFC 332 Will Be His Final MMA Fight

Court McGee, a seasoned welterweight in the UFC, has announced that his bout at UFC 332 will mark the end of his mixed martial arts career. The fighter, who began his UFC journey in 2010 after winning Season 11 of "The Ultimate Fighter," is set to face Eric Nolan in the opening preliminary fight on Saturday's card at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Reasons Behind McGee's Retirement

McGee, now 41 years old, has been open about his retirement plans following this fight. In an interview with MMAjunkie.com, he explained that this decision was made years ago when he signed his current four-fight contract. Reflecting on past injuries and his current health, McGee said:

"Yeah, it's a retirement fight, but I knew it a couple of years ago when I signed this four-fight deal, so I knew it was coming to an end, and I felt confident with it. Before that, with the neck injury, I thought I was done and I was going to leave a fight on the table, and after fulfilling that last one, I hadn’t felt that good in years. I feel really good. I feel really healthy, but I’m 41 and I’ll be turning 42 this year. Like they say, it’s a young man’s sport, and I want to make sure I have my wits about me when I’m done. I have three kids; I’m married. I have a gym. There’s a lot of life ahead of me after 40. I feel good about my decision. I made that decision with those who are close to me, and I’m OK with it. I’ve made peace with it."

Odds and Expectations for UFC 332

Heading into the fight, McGee is considered the underdog with betting odds placing him at +190, while Eric Nolan is favored at -225. Despite Nolan's 0-2 record in the UFC, his youth, knockout power, and durability make him a strong contender. McGee’s endurance and wrestling skills, combined with support from fans, create an interesting dynamic for the matchup.
