Premier League Midfielder Eyes Return to Real Madrid

Real Madrid is expected to pursue a new midfielder in 2027 after missing out on signings this summer. The absence of fresh midfield talent has caused issues for Jose Mourinho's squad, often losing control during matches. This situation has pushed the club's management to plan for reinforcements.

Failed Pursuits and New Targets

The club previously attempted to acquire Enzo Fernandez and Rodri, but both moves fell through—Fernandez was too expensive, while Barcelona secured Rodri first. Despite these setbacks, Real Madrid’s leadership is already considering new options, possibly including a familiar face from their past.

Chema Andres: A Potential Return

In 2025, Chema Andres departed Real Madrid to join Stuttgart. After a productive year in Germany, he moved to Brighton and has made a strong start in the Premier League. Recently, Andres shared with Diario AS his hope to return to the Bernabeu one day, although he isn’t actively pursuing a transfer right now.

"Real Madrid? I hope to come back in the future, but I'm not thinking about it right now."

Challenges in Re-Signing Andres

If Real Madrid decides to try and bring Andres back, it won’t be straightforward. Once he transferred from Stuttgart to Brighton, Madrid lost any control over his future. They would have to pay Brighton’s full asking price, and Brighton is known for demanding high fees for key players.

For the moment, Real Madrid will monitor Andres’ progress closely. If he continues to perform well, he could appear on their list of potential signings next summer.
