Burnley Signs Veteran Goalkeeper Ben Amos on One-Year Deal

Burnley have moved to add experience between the posts, signing veteran goalkeeper Ben Amos on a one-year contract.

The 36-year-old arrives as a free agent after leaving Port Vale at the end of last season, bringing with him a career that has criss-crossed the English pyramid and carried the weight of expectation since his earliest days at Manchester United.

Amos came through the academy at Old Trafford, once tipped as part of the next wave of United goalkeepers. The breakthrough never quite materialised there, but the journey that followed has been anything but quiet. “I think there’s a good blend of younger and older players here and hopefully I can bring something to the dressing room with my experience and be part of the senior group,” Amos told the club’s website, outlining exactly where he sees his value.
