Borussia Dortmund Eye Ibrahim Mbaye from PSG
Borussia Dortmund have set their sights on one of Paris Saint-Germain’s brightest young forwards, with Ibrahim Mbaye emerging as a serious option to bolster their attack.
According to Italian transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Dortmund have made direct contact to explore a potential deal for the 18-year-old winger, asking PSG about his situation and possible availability. It is an early move, but a deliberate one: the Bundesliga side want more pace and unpredictability in the final third, and Mbaye fits that profile.
The teenager is already building a solid résumé in Paris. He has clocked up 42 appearances for PSG’s first team, contributing four goals and four assists. Those numbers are modest at first glance, but they come in a squad packed with attacking stars and in a role where minutes are fiercely contested. Coaches see him as a wide player who can stretch the pitch, attack full-backs, and carry the ball at speed — exactly the kind of profile Dortmund have often turned into a star.
Dortmund are not alone in the chase. Mbaye has also attracted attention from the Premier League, with Aston Villa among the clubs credited with an interest. The pull of English football is strong, and Villa’s recent ambition in the market makes them a credible rival for his signature.
PSG, for their part, are under no pressure to sell. Mbaye is tied to the French champions until 2028, a long contract that hands the Paris club a strong negotiating position and ensures any talks will be on their terms. If Dortmund or Aston Villa want him, they will have to pay for both his current talent and his considerable upside.
An 18-year-old winger, a long contract in Paris, and two ambitious clubs circling. The question now is not whether Ibrahim Mbaye is ready for a bigger role — it’s which project will convince him that his next step should come away from PSG.
