Barcelona Alert as Estevao Frustrated with Limited Chelsea Role under Xabi Alonso

Estevao, the promising Brazilian winger, is becoming increasingly unhappy with his limited playing time under Xabi Alonso at Chelsea. This tension has Barcelona closely watching the situation, eyeing a potential transfer opportunity in upcoming windows.

Challenges at Stamford Bridge

The 19-year-old forward has barely featured this season, logging just 23 minutes in five Premier League games. His only starts came in the EFL Cup, leaving him feeling sidelined and disappointed. After adapting to English football last season, Estevao expected a bigger role but now doubts his immediate future at Chelsea.

Tactical Disagreements with Alonso

SPORT reported a cold war between Estevao and Alonso, centered on tactical differences. Estevao wants to shift from the right wing to a central attacking position, but that spot is occupied by Cole Palmer. Additionally, the youngster is hesitant to continue bulking up, fearing it will reduce his agility and pace, his key strengths.

Despite these issues, neither Estevao nor his representatives are pushing for a transfer at the moment.

Professionalism Amidst Struggles

While representing Brazil in Australia, Estevao took a diplomatic stance on his limited minutes. He avoided any confrontation with Alonso, emphasizing his commitment to working hard and focusing on what he can control.

"Every manager has their way of playing and, of course, I work every day and give my best," Estevao said. "We have a lot of players with immense quality at Chelsea. I focus on what I can control. When I have a chance, I try to give my best."

Alonso also expressed confidence in Estevao's potential, assuring there will be more opportunities ahead.

Barcelona's Interest Remains Strong

Although an immediate move is unlikely, Barcelona continue to monitor Estevao closely. The club followed his development during his Palmeiras days but chose to back Lamine Yamal when the opportunity arose, allowing Chelsea to sign Estevao for €61.5 million.

Deco, Barcelona's sporting director, stays informed about Estevao's situation at Chelsea and is watching how things evolve at Stamford Bridge carefully.
