Arsenal have moved Jules Kounde to the top of their defensive shortlist, sensing a rare opening as Barcelona juggle sporting ambition with financial reality in the final stretch of the transfer window.
The London club are tracking the France international closely, aware that his situation at Camp Nou is no longer as secure as it once looked. Kounde has reported for pre-season and remains under contract until 2030, but the ground beneath him is moving.
Barcelona’s balancing act
