Arsenal Extends Landmark Emirates Shirt Deal to 2033
Arsenal have moved quickly to turn title momentum into boardroom muscle, announcing a new long-term extension to their partnership with Emirates that will run until 2033 – a deal that cements one of the defining commercial relationships in modern football.
The agreement keeps the Emirates name exactly where Arsenal fans have grown used to seeing it: across the front of the first-team shirts, on the training kit and above the doors of Emirates Stadium. What began in 2006 as a bold, early move into stadium naming rights has now become the longest continuous shirt sponsorship in Premier League history.
This is not just another renewal. It’s a statement of intent.
Fresh from lifting the Premier League trophy, Arsenal view the extension as a key pillar in their attempt to turn one title into an era. The club made it clear the deal is designed to fuel those ambitions, supporting investment on and off the pitch at a time when the financial arms race at the top of European football shows no sign of slowing.
Chief executive Richard Garlick underlined the significance of the moment. Winning the league, he said, marked an exceptional point in Arsenal’s history, and Emirates have been embedded in that story for almost two decades. From the move away from Highbury to the emergence of a new, vibrant side under a fresh generation, the airline’s logo has been stitched into every chapter.
For Garlick, renewing the partnership is not nostalgia; it is a shared bet on what comes next. Both sides, he stressed, see Arsenal’s future as something to build towards, not simply reflect upon, and both are intent on turning recent success into something more sustained.
On the Emirates side, president Sir Tim Clark framed the relationship as something far deeper than a traditional sponsorship. Over 20 years, the airline and the club have built a global platform that has carried Arsenal’s identity far beyond north London. Together they have created fan experiences and initiatives that, as Clark noted, neither could have delivered alone – projects that have helped turn Arsenal into one of the most recognisable football brands on the planet.
The numbers remain under wraps, but the intent is obvious: Emirates want to stay at the heart of Arsenal’s story, and Arsenal are happy to keep flying under the same banner.
To mark the partnership’s 20th anniversary, the club and the airline will roll out a series of events and fan-focused activities in the coming weeks. A new promotional film is also on the way, revisiting the biggest moments of the two decades together, with former club captain and German World Cup winner Per Mertesacker featuring prominently as one of the emblematic figures of the Emirates era.
The next phase begins where the partnership is most visible: at Emirates Stadium itself. Arsenal will host Borussia Dortmund in the Emirates Cup, using the occasion to celebrate the renewed deal and two decades of shared history.
A new contract, the same name on the shirt, and a club determined to make this era live up to the scale of its stadium.
