Alex Pereira Hints at Major UFC Fight Ahead: ‘Big Challenge’
Alex Pereira Signals a Major UFC Fight on the Horizon
Alex Pereira, the UFC star, announced he has a significant challenge lined up for his next appearance in the Octagon. Since his TKO defeat to Ciryl Gane at UFC Freedom 250 back in June, where he missed out on the interim heavyweight title, Pereira has been quiet inside the cage.
Now, he’s eager to return and says the UFC has something big waiting for him.
Teasing the Next Opponent
On social media, Pereira dropped hints about an upcoming fight. He shared an Instagram story saying, "It's coming. Good news, that's right, a big challenge. Like I told you, if I hadn’t taken risks in all my fights I wouldn’t be who I am today."
Who Could Be Next?
The most logical matchup seems to be against fellow knockout artist Sergei Pavlovich. Both fighters are known for their devastating power in the UFC heavyweight division, making this potential bout a thrilling prospect for fans craving a striking showdown.
If Pereira wins that fight, he could be next in line to face the winner of the UFC 334 title clash between Ciryl Gane and top contender Josh Hokit.
Aiming for History
Pereira, a former UFC light heavyweight and middleweight champion, has openly shared his dream of becoming the first fighter to win titles in three divisions. That ambition pushed him to vacate his 205 lbs belt and move up to heavyweight.
Though his debut heavyweight bout didn’t go his way, a victory over Pavlovich or whoever else his “big challenge” turns out to be could set him up for a rematch against Gane in 2027.
