Ajax Eye Roony Bardghji as Godts-PSG Saga Intensifies
AFC Ajax are positioning themselves as serious contenders for Roony Bardghji, with the Dutch club ready to move if they can finally cash in on Mika Godts’ expected transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Amsterdam side are braced for a frantic finish to the window and are already deep in talks on multiple fronts. They have reopened a familiar line to FC Barcelona after securing Marc-Andre ter Stegen on loan, and Bardghji is now firmly on their radar.
Godts money could fuel Bardghji push
Ajax’s immediate battlefield is Godts. PSG have already seen a €50 million offer knocked back, with the Eredivisie club holding out for more as they try to squeeze every last euro out of a prized asset.
The Belgian winger has agreed personal terms with the French champions, so the stalemate is purely financial. Once that breaks, Ajax intend to move quickly.
Their first-choice attacking reinforcement remains Noa Lang from Napoli. That is the headline target. But Bardghji has quietly climbed the list as a genuine alternative, a move that suddenly feels more realistic if the Godts fee lands in the bank.
Initially, Ajax had stepped away from Bardghji because Barcelona were insisting on a permanent transfer rather than a loan. A big sale changes the equation. With fresh money, Ajax can entertain the structure Barça want instead of searching for cut-price solutions.
Parallel to that, another Barcelona youngster, Jofre Torrents, is still expected to join Ajax on loan, underlining the growing pipeline between the two clubs.
Barcelona push for sale, Bardghji wants a return route
The next few days should define Bardghji’s future. The Swedish winger would rather leave on loan, test himself elsewhere, then walk back into Barcelona next summer with more experience and rhythm.

But admiration does not guarantee minutes. With Karim Adeyemi and Anthony Gordon arriving to thicken the competition in wide areas, Flick has been blunt: regular game time for Bardghji will be hard to find.
So club and player, for once, are aligned on the big picture. He has to go somewhere he can play every week.
Barcelona, though, want that move to come on their terms. Bardghji’s representatives are now combing through offers, searching for a project that promises heavy minutes while respecting Barça’s preferred structure: a permanent deal, a clear buy-back option, and no loss of long-term control.

There is no shortage of admirers. Premier League clubs are tracking Bardghji, but none have yet come forward with a proposal that gives Barcelona the buy-back safety net they are demanding.
In France, Marseille remain attentive to the situation. In Spain, doors could open at a Champions League club if other transfers fall into place and free up a slot in attack.
Barcelona have already had chances to move Bardghji earlier in the summer. Both the club and the player chose patience, preferring to wait for a project that fits sporting ambition and financial logic.
