2026-27 Bundesliga Season Start and Fixture Release Dates
When Does the 2026-27 Bundesliga Season Begin?
The 2026-27 Bundesliga campaign will kick off on August 9, starting a bit earlier than usual. The season will wrap up on May 22, 2027, which is about a week later than in previous years.
Fixture Announcement for 2026-27 Bundesliga
The match schedule for both the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga was published on July 2, 2026. While the fixtures by matchweek are set, the exact days and kickoff times haven’t been fixed yet. These details will shift depending on TV rights, European contests, and the DFB-Pokal cup games.
International Breaks During the Season
The international breaks have been adjusted slightly. Instead of three single-week pauses during autumn, there will be one two-week break and one one-week break. This means no Bundesliga matches on weekends of September 26, October 3, and November 14. Additionally, there’s a break on the weekend of March 27, 2027.
German Clubs in European Competitions
Seven German teams will compete in UEFA tournaments throughout the season:
- Champions League: 4 teams
- Europa League: 2 teams
- Conference League: 1 team
Schedules for each competition are available for fans who want to follow their clubs across Europe.
