Yves Bissouma Set for Ajax Move
Yves Bissouma is closing in on a move to Ajax, with the former Tottenham midfielder set to sign an initial deal running until the end of the season.
The 30-year-old, a free agent since leaving Spurs in June, is in Amsterdam to put the finishing touches on his return to top-level football in the Netherlands. The agreement is understood to include an option for Ajax to extend his stay by a further 12 months.
For the Mali international, it marks a fresh chapter after a turbulent end to his time in north London. Bissouma joined Tottenham from Brighton in 2022 in a high-profile switch and went on to make 111 appearances for the club.
His Spurs spell, though, faded under the glare of strict standards. In August 2025, then-manager Thomas Frank omitted Bissouma from the squad to face Paris St-Germain in the Uefa Super Cup, citing persistent lateness as the reason for his exclusion.
Now comes a reset. Ajax gain an experienced, combative midfielder with a point to prove and a contract built on short-term opportunity and long-term possibility.
