Worthing Signs Striker Jordan Young from Torquay United

Worthing have moved to sharpen their promotion push by landing striker Jordan Young from National League South rivals Torquay United for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old arrives with a proven eye for goal. Since joining Torquay from Yeovil Town in October 2024, Young has hit 35 goals in 88 appearances, a return that made him one of United’s key attacking threats.

Worthing boss Adam Hinshelwood made it clear why he was so keen to get the deal done, highlighting Young’s ability to change games with a single strike or delivery from a set piece. The manager described his new forward as a player with “great dead-ball delivery” who can both score and create “from out of nowhere”, underlining the expectation that Young will become a central figure in Worthing’s frontline.

Torquay, meanwhile, have protected their longer-term interests. The club confirmed that the agreement includes a clause ensuring they retain a “significant financial interest” in any future transfer involving Young, softening the blow of losing one of their most productive players.
