Woltemade on Spalletti’s Aura and Career Impact

Nick Woltemade says he knew within minutes that working under Luciano Spalletti would change his career.

The German striker, on loan at Bianconeri from Newcastle after a summer move, sat down with DAZN to reflect on his early months in Italy and the impact of the veteran Tuscan coach. New league, new club, new demands – but the 22-year-old is clearly relishing it.

He went straight back to day one.

“When I met Spalletti for the first time with my family, we all thought one single thing: aura,” Woltemade recalled. “He has a huge aura, he seems calm, but he is very clear in what he wants both on the pitch and off it.”

That first impression has quickly turned into daily reality. Woltemade described a manager who wastes no time, drilling into details and insisting on constant improvement.

“He is helping me a lot and immediately began working closely with me to help me improve. I am certain I will become a better player under him,” the forward said.

The move from Newcastle was framed as a key step in his development, and Woltemade believes he has landed in the ideal place to grow. Surrounded by a demanding coach and a club that expects progress, he feels the environment is tailored to push him beyond his current ceiling.
