Victor Osimhen: Key Signing for Arsenal's Title Bid

Dwight Yorke believes one signing would tilt the Premier League title race decisively towards north London – Victor Osimhen in an Arsenal shirt.

The former Manchester United striker is convinced the Galatasaray forward has the exact profile to bully English defences and turn Mikel Arteta’s side into runaway contenders.

“Victor Osimhen to Arsenal would be huge. That would really cement them as favourites,” Yorke told Reviant, making no attempt to play down the scale of the impact he expects.

Yorke has been studying the Nigerian closely.

“I was actually looking at some clips today and he’s all action, isn’t he? All arms and legs, a little bit unorthodox, but he gets the job done.”

This is not a paean to elegance. Yorke admires Osimhen precisely because he is awkward, raw, and relentless.

“He’s not the most elegant player you will ever see, but you will find him very awkward to play against. He’ll be a bit of a nightmare for these defenders because he’s a little bit old-fashioned in that sense.”

Six foot, rangy, aggressive in the air. A striker who attacks space, attacks crosses, and never stops running. Yorke sees a throwback centre-forward with modern intensity.

“He’s six-foot, he’s lanky, he’s decent in the air, he takes his opportunities, and he works hard. As a centre-forward, if you have those attributes, defenders are not going to look forward to playing against him.”

For Yorke, the equation is simple: put that kind of chaos and productivity at the top of Arsenal’s slick, structured attack, and the title picture changes dramatically.
