Valencia in Talks with Liverpool for Harvey Elliott Loan
Valencia are in talks with Liverpool over a loan move for midfielder Harvey Elliott until the end of the season, as the Spanish club push to strengthen before the La Liga deadline.
The 23-year-old is coming off a frustrating spell at Aston Villa, where he managed just one Premier League start during last season’s loan. Game time at Anfield has not opened up either. Despite featuring regularly in pre-season under new head coach Andoni Iraola, Elliott has been left out of Liverpool’s first two Premier League squads.
Valencia, who finished ninth in La Liga last season and missed out on European football, have been working on a deal that fits within their financial limits. The structure is key. The Spanish side want Liverpool to pay half of Elliott’s wages to make the move viable.
Talks are ongoing as the clock ticks down. La Liga’s transfer window closes on Tuesday at 23:00 BST, leaving Valencia and Liverpool with a narrow window to find agreement on the finer details of the loan.
