Transfer Updates: Daisuke Yokota Set for Rangers, Freddie Potts Leaves West Ham
Rangers are reported to have finalized an agreement to sign Hannover forward Daisuke Yokota. German transfer expert Florian Plettenberg revealed that Rangers are close to securing the permanent transfer of Yokota, who had nine goal contributions in 30 appearances in Germany’s Bundesliga 2 last season.
The deal reportedly involves an initial fee of 3 million euros plus add-ons and includes a sell-on clause. Yokota, 26, is expected to travel to Scotland on August 4 to undergo a medical and finalize a long-term contract with Rangers.
Freddie Potts Exits West Ham for Club Brugge
West Ham United prepare for their first Championship campaign in 15 years after finishing 18th in the Premier League. Midfielder Freddie Potts, aged 22, has confirmed his departure from the East London club, joining Belgian champions Club Brugge for an undisclosed fee.
Brugge secured the 2025-26 Belgian Pro League title and earned automatic qualification to the Champions League League Phase, guaranteeing at least eight matches in Europe’s top club competition next season. Meanwhile, West Ham continue to see departures, with Potts leaving after sales of Matheus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville to Tottenham Hotspur and Al-Hilal respectively.
On a brighter note for the London Stadium, captain Jarrod Bowen has committed to staying with West Ham during their Championship campaign.
Sunderland Holds Firm on Wilson Isidor
