Transfer Updates: Coventry's Hamer Talks Hit Valuation Snag, West Ham Targets Ex-Spurs Forward

Coventry City is in ongoing discussions with Sheffield United regarding a move to bring midfielder Gustavo Hamer back to the club. The 29-year-old previously made 132 appearances during his three years at Coventry before transferring to Sheffield United in 2023.

Despite progress in talks, the clubs differ significantly on Hamer's transfer fee. With just one year left on his current contract at Sheffield United, Coventry must meet the valuation gap to finalize the deal.

If a suitable fee is agreed upon, Hamer is reportedly eager to return to Coventry and compete in the Premier League, marking his first top-flight campaign since 2023-24.

West Ham Targets Troy Parrott to Boost Promotion Bid

West Ham United, currently in the Championship, has shown interest in former Tottenham Hotspur striker Troy Parrott. Manager Nuno Espirito Santo aims to strengthen the squad’s attack to push for immediate promotion back to the Premier League.

The club shifted focus to Parrott after failing to secure Sunderland’s Wilson Isidor. Parrott has impressed at AZ Alkmaar, scoring 51 goals in 96 appearances over two seasons.

Competition for Parrott includes Italian side Como, Spanish team Real Betis, and Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven and Ajax. While some rivals offer Champions League football, West Ham hopes their proposed £18 million bid will secure Parrott’s signature.

Ipswich Town Nears Deal for Florentino Luis from Burnley

Ipswich Town is close to signing midfielder Florentino Luis from Burnley. After a loan spell last year, Florentino joined Burnley permanently this summer, but their relegation opened the door for Ipswich and Hull City.

Hull pursued a loan deal, but Ipswich is set to sign Florentino on a permanent basis. Reports suggest a fee of around £16 million has been agreed to bring the 26-year-old into Gary O’Neil’s squad.

Florentino passed his medical recently and is expected to be unveiled shortly. He will join midfielders Azor Matusiwa, Marcelino Nunez, Jack Taylor, and Cameron Humphreys to strengthen Ipswich’s central options.
