Tottenham Opens Talks for Loan of Franco Mastantuono
After bringing in six new signings this summer, Tottenham Hotspur is looking to strengthen their attack ahead of the upcoming season under Roberto De Zerbi.
The club recently gave fans a sneak peek of their new additions, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, during a behind-closed-doors 1-0 win over MK Dons at Hotspur Way. Fernandes impressed early with a spectacular volley from outside the box, putting Spurs ahead in just the third minute.
With the team now preparing for their first pre-season tour to New Zealand and Australia, supporters hope more new faces will join alongside summer signings Martin Dubravka, Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson, Fernandes, and Tonali.
Interest in Real Madrid's Rising Star
Tottenham has reportedly initiated contact regarding a loan move for 18-year-old Franco Mastantuono, a promising talent signed by Real Madrid for £38.5 million in June 2025. The Argentine winger and attacking midfielder played 23 LaLiga matches last season, starting in 11 of them.
Described by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez as "one of the biggest talents in world football," Mastantuono may be loaned out without an option to buy to gain more playing time. Several clubs are interested in him, including Fulham, who are considered the frontrunners for his signature, along with Juventus, Inter Milan, Como, Porto, Benfica, Sporting CP, Villarreal, Rennes, Lyon, Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen, and RB Leipzig.
Boosting Tottenham's Offensive Options
Tottenham’s attacking lineup needs reinforcement, especially on the right wing. Wilson Odobert remains sidelined with an ACL injury, and uncertainty surrounds Dejan Kulusevski’s return after more than a year out. Mohammed Kudus aims to make a strong comeback after only two appearances in 2026 due to injury, while Mathys Tel could cover the right side if not deployed on the left.
Manor Solomon and Yang Min-hyeok also offer options on the right but might leave as they are low in the pecking order. Adding Mastantuono would provide De Zerbi with more versatility both as a right-winger and an attacking midfielder. The youngster scored three goals for Real Madrid last season and would be a valuable addition if the loan deal proceeds.
