Europe's Leading Assist Providers So Far in 2026-27

Last season, Bruno Fernandes topped the assist charts across Europe, but which players are stepping up this time? It’s early in the season, but the following list highlights the top assist-makers in the five biggest European leagues: the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1. All these leagues have representation among the top 10.

Only league assists count here. When players share the same number of assists, the one with fewer minutes played ranks higher due to a better assist ratio.

Top 10 Assist Leaders

  • 10. Evanilson – 3 assistsEvanilson has already tripled his assists compared to last Premier League season despite not scoring yet. His assists came against Manchester City, Everton, and Brentford, but Bournemouth still awaits their first win this campaign.
  • 9. Cody Gakpo – 3 assistsAll three assists by Gakpo for Liverpool have been to Alexander Isak. Two came in the same match versus Ipswich. Gakpo’s performances have surprised many after doubts about his future this summer.
  • 8. Dani Olmo – 3 assistsOlmo has mostly come off the bench in La Liga but still managed three assists in six appearances. Barcelona’s attacking options are impressive, with Raphinha leading all five major leagues in goals and also tallying three assists, though he misses this list on minutes played.
  • 7. Matthias Ginter – 3 assistsThe defender from Bundesliga’s Freiburg stands out with three assists in just three games. He contributed twice in a recent 5-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.
  • 6. Mariano Diaz – 3 assistsAfter a quiet spell since returning to Real Madrid, Diaz is shining with Alaves. He’s notched three goals and three assists in six games, making this his most productive season since 2017-18 at Lyon.

  • 1. Anthony Gordon – 4 assistsGordon’s move from Newcastle to Barcelona raised eyebrows but his start in La Liga has been excellent. Coming off the bench on his debut against Elche, he assisted two goals within four minutes. More assists followed against Rayo Vallecano and Valencia. His previous best was 10 assists in a league season, so he may set a new personal record.
