Strasbourg Signs Chelsea's Omari Kellyman in Major Transfer
Strasbourg have completed the permanent signing of Chelsea attacker Omari Kellyman, as the transfer conveyor belt between the two BlueCo-owned clubs gathers pace again.
The deal, which includes a buyback clause for Chelsea, is the 20th transfer between the sides since they came under the same American ownership group. It is also expected to be only the first move in a busy week of shared business.
Upcoming Transfers
Deivid Washington is poised to follow. The young Chelsea striker is set to join the Ligue 1 club on a similar arrangement, keeping Chelsea’s long-term control while handing Strasbourg another highly rated prospect.
The French side could yet add a third Chelsea player before the week is out. Either midfielder Dario Essugo or winger Mykhailo Mudryk is in line to move to Strasbourg on loan, as the London club look to trim and reshape their squad while feeding talent into their sister team.
Omari Kellyman's Move
For Kellyman, 20, the switch offers a fresh start. He arrived at Stamford Bridge from Aston Villa in 2024 for £19m, a statement signing in the club’s youth-focused rebuild. But hamstring problems repeatedly stalled his progress, and he failed to make a first-team appearance.
Now he goes to Strasbourg in search of the minutes that never came in west London, while Chelsea keep a close eye on a player they were once willing to invest heavily in.
