Robin Roefs Commits to Sunderland Until 2031
Robin Roefs has tied his future to Sunderland, signing a new deal that keeps him on Wearside until 2031 – a statement of faith from both goalkeeper and club after a breakout first season.
The 20-year-old’s emergence as a commanding presence in goal underpinned Sunderland’s surge to seventh place and a Europa League spot, and the Black Cats have moved quickly to lock him in for the long haul.
Sporting director Florent Ghisolfi did not hide his satisfaction as he spoke to the club’s official channels, hailing both Roefs’ impact and his attitude.
“We are very pleased that Robin has committed his future to Sunderland until 2031,” Ghisolfi said. “He had a strong first season with us, but what we value just as much is his humility, his willingness to work and his desire to keep improving every day.
