Nottingham Forest Sign Liam Delap for Record £50m

Nottingham Forest have smashed their transfer record to land Liam Delap from Chelsea in a deal that could rise to £50m.

Forest have agreed a package understood to be worth at least £45m, with performance-related add-ons pushing the fee towards the £50m mark. The striker is due to undergo a medical on Wednesday as the move edges towards completion.

The 21-year-old had attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Everton, but Forest have won the race for his signature as they look to sharpen their attack for the new season.

Chelsea only brought Delap in last summer from Ipswich Town for £30m and set a valuation of around £50m heading into this window. They are now banking a £15m profit on a forward who scored two goals in 41 appearances last season.

For Forest, it is a clear statement of intent. The Delap deal eclipses their previous record signing, the £37.5m capture of Omari Hutchison from Ipswich Town in August 2025.
